About
Chris Zook's reason for taking on ownership of
Blain Structures was simple:
"...I wanted a business that could support my family, where I could also work with my family."

Our Story
Blain Structures was actually started in 1989 by Chris Zook's brother-in-law. With his brother-in-law's vision of starting a Dairy Farm becoming his focus - Chris had the opportunity to purchase Blain Structures and keep the business going. When asked what his goals for the business were, he very simply said, "Of course, it was to support my family - but I wanted a business that could support my family, where I could also work with my family."
The proud father of four children - two older girls and two younger sons, Chris described how even at their young age when he took over Blain Structures, his daughters would help with light duties around the shop and enjoyed doing the painting. His two sons, Christopher and Jonathan, became involved in the family business as they got older. A point of happiness for him was seeing them take an interest in it...
In his gentle, warm voice, Chris described how each of his son's strengths contributes success to the business. "Christopher is great in production and quality control - the quality is important to him. Jonathan is great on the business side of things, although he is just as hard of a worker and really get things done."
Chris enjoys the idea that his business could very well turn into a legacy that he can leave to his two capable sons who already now, help with day-to-day operations. "If they take over one day, it can be something that further helps them support their own families and continue to work together."
Long Lasting Relationships
Another source of pride for Chris Zook, owner of Blain Structures, is his unique relationship with his suppliers and salesman. Not many businesses can say that they've had the same dealer or supplier or salesman for the entire life of their business - which in Chris's case spans an impressive 33 years. His appreciation for that type of consistency in partnerships is genuinely respected and appreciated. "We come down to Florida to vacation and I spoke on the phone to one of my salesmen...I told him to come on down and visit! He got on a plane two days later and vacationed with us! Another one of my salesmen from my lumber supplier, who's been my lumber supplier since Day 1 of my business, also came down to join us."
To own and operate a business with quality products and such a personable business approach, it's clear to see why Blain Structures have retained the loyalty of their suppliers, dealers and customers.
